  • Career Pathways

Career Pathways of North Texas Adult Education and Literacy (NTAEL) gets students from where they are to where they want to go. Whether you find Career Pathways (CPW) initiatives and choose to enroll as a new student, or choose to continue your education after taking our English as a Second Language classes or High School Equivalent/GED courses.

The core components of NTAEL Career Pathways initiatives are job training programs and English for Internationally Trained Professionals with university degrees from outside the United States. We also provide services for employers and their qualifying staff, as well as justice-involved individuals whether they’re on community supervision, recently released, or currently incarcerated.

Job training programs, or Integrated Education and Training (IETs), are educational courses that involve basic skills development, workforce preparation, and job training that leads to industry-recognized credentials. Our course offerings may change and not all who apply will be eligible. To find out if you are, please submit an interest survey, here.

English for Professionals: ESL-P classes are English language classes with an emphasis on workforce preparation and preparation for entry to university. To take this class, students must have a university degree from outside of the United States.

Re-entry and Corrections services are for justice-involved individuals. This is a range of services and courses designed for eligible participants. This service can be additional support and guidance for these individuals, or specific classes focusing on holistic growth and personal development.

Workplace Literacy: These are courses specifically designed for employer partnerships. These classes can include general services like English as a Second Language, GED, but also may include our extended services like training and upskilling for employees with customized programs.
