Communities in Schools of North Texas
The Mission of Communities In Schools of North Texas is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Communities In Schools of North Texas is an affiliate of a national nonprofit organization that is the leading dropout prevention specialist in the US.  Our goal is to decrease the rate of students who drop out of school and increase the number of students who are promoted, who pass the TAKS/STAAR tests, and ultimately graduate from high school.

Communities In Schools(CIS) helps students by providing academic support in the form of grade monitoring, homework help, tutoring and mentoring. CIS also helps by providing clothing and school supplies to students as needed throughout the school year.

We utilize all kinds of resources from the community to help remove barriers that keep students from being successful.  One of our greatest resources are volunteers.  If you would like to volunteer with CISNT as a mentor, tutor, or volunteer your time in another way, please visit our website (www.cisnt.org/volunteer) to access information on volunteering or contact me at oaje_cis@dentonisd.org.
