My Biography

An almost native Texan, I was raised in Lubbock, Texas and graduated from Coronado High School.  I went to Lubbock Christian University where I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.  After a brief stint in the U.S. Army I moved back home to Lubbock and began my career working with juveniles. It was at that time that I met my wife and we were married in 1999.  We moved to El Paso, Texas where I recieved my Master of Arts degree in 2001.  During the summer of 2001, we moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee where I continued to work with juveniles.  My work included being a juvenile detention officer, a juvenile detention supervisor, and a case manager for at-risk kids.  A move to Denton occurred during the summer of 2005 where I continued to work with juveniles.  It was at that time that I decided to become a school teacher.  I went through the certification process and enjoyed my first year as a teacher during the 2007-2008 school year.  This is my 10th year here at McMath and I cannot begin to tell everyone how excited I am to be the 6th Grade and 7-1 Counselor.  I have four wonderful children and the most amazing wife.  My hobbies include spending time with my family, cook-outs, and watching the Cowboys.  My wife and I have recently took up cycling and participated in the 2011 BP MS150 bike ride from Houston to Austin.  I am also a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and hope every year that they win the World Series (CUBS WIN, CUBS WIN, CUBS WIN)  My goal for all students is to have FUN in learning and BELIEVE.
