• Mick Maxey - Head Golf Coach
    Born and raised in the metroplex. Coach Maxey graduated from L.D. Bell High School and attended Oklahoma Baptist University on a baseball scholarship. Received a BBA in marketing from U.T.A and a composite Social Studies Certification from the University of North Texas.  This is Maxey's 25th year of teaching and coaching. He has coached football, baseball,basketball and golf, all at the high school levels. This is Maxey's 15th year of coaching golf and his 11th at Denton High. Coach Maxey has a daughter, Hannah, who is a graduate of Grapevine High school and now a freshman in collage. mmaxey@dentonisd.org   940-369-2167
     
    Lisa Asplund- Assistant Golf Coach
    Grew up in Andrews Texas. From 1988-1992 Coach Asplund played on 4 state championship teams, and was runner-up individually in 1992. Received a full golf scholarship to play at The University of North Texas. Received a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in reading in 1997. Played on the professional golf  tour from 1997-1999 and then returned to Denton to teach and coach.  She was a teacher at Calhoun Middle School for 14  years as well as coaching at DHS for the last 6.  Coach Asplund teaches English IV  at Denton High now and coaches golf.  She lives in Roanoke with her husband and two children, Hannah (14) and Cody (10).
