• Internet Explorer 8 & 9 Compatibility Mode

You may have recently upgraded your Web browser to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 8 or 9 and noticed that some of the websites you now visit, including our website at Denton ISD, appear to look or act differently.

This is because Microsoft includes a “Compatibility mode” with these versious which helps compensate for the way Web code and programs from earlier versions are handled within the browser.  The purpose of Compatibility View is to help make Web sites that are designed for older browsers look better in Internet Explorer 8 and 9.

    Symptoms of Incompatibility

When visiting Web sites or applications with the Internet Explorer 8 or 9 browser, you may experience any of the following:

    ·    Menus, images, or texts are in the wrong positions on some Web sites.

    ·    Some Web site features do not work.

    ·    You receive script error messages on some Web sites.

    ·    Internet Explorer stops working or crashes on some Web sites.

Known Incompatability with Schoolwires Centricity 2 (Denton ISD)

While Microsoft suggests enabling Compatibility mode for all websites, currently Schoolwires/Centricity 2 (our website application) does not support Internet Explorer 8 or 9 in Compatibility mode.

To continue to use Denton ISD – you will need to disable Compatibility mode in order for the website to display correctly.
