Candalyn ran the 100m, 200m and competed on each of the 3 relays at one point during her 4 year varsity career as a Wildcat. During her senior season, Candalyn was the Regional Champion & State Qualifier in three events: 100m, 4x100m and 4x200m. She capped off a great high school career with 2 State medals (Silver in the 4x200m and Bronze in the 4x100m) & an overall 4th place Team finish. She is currently a sprinter at The University of Tulsa.
Devin ran the 1600m and 3200m throughout her 4 years as a Guyer Wildcat. During her senior season, Devin won the Regional Championship in the 3200m. She was also a Regional Champion in cross country. She still holds records in the 1600m, 3200m, and the 5k in cross country. She capped off a great high school career with 1 state medal in cross country and a 5th place finish in the 3200m at the State Track Meet. & an overall 4th place Team finish. Devin graduated from Guyer in 2014. She is currently a distance runner at Texas A&M University. She plans to be a teacher and coach upon graduation.
Brianne Van Voorhis
Brianne's specialty was the 800m, but she also competed in the 1600m and the 4x400m when needed. During her junior season, she qualified for the State Cross Country meet. She was part of our team Regional Championship in 2014. Brianne graduated from Guyer in 2015. She is currently a distance runner at Arkansas State.Savanna SteakleySavanna specialized in the 100 hurdles and the 300m hurdles at Guyer. However, one of her most memorable moments as a Wildcat was during the 4x400m relay at the 2016 District Meet where she ran an unbelievable leg that helped secure the Team Championship! After graduating in 2016, Savanna continued to run track at A&M Corpus. She is majoring in Criminal Justice. The Islanders plan for her to compete in the 400m hurdles and the 4x400m relay.
Jade was a Wildcat sprinter who specialized in the 100m. During her senior season, she competed in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m, & 4x200m. She was part of the 2016 District 5-6A Championship team. Jade's smile and leadership are truly missed. She graduated from Guyer in 2016. She is currently a sprinter at Central Arkansas. She is majoring Broadcast Journalism & minoring in African American studies.
Julia threw shotput and discus at Guyer for four years. She was a regional qualifier in both discus and shotput, helping lead Guyer to three district titles and was a part of the Regional Championship team. She went to state in her senior season.
Tiara ran various events at Guyer High School. Though her most notable event was the 100m, she also ran on each of the relays at one point during her four year career as a Wildcat. She was a regional qualifier all four years and helped Guyer win four district championships. She was sprinter at Drake University. She is currently working on her graduate degree.
