Bettye Myers Middle School will work diligently to provide a safe and secure environment for all of our students. We offer annual trainings so that our administrators, teachers, and support staff can recognize the signs and symptoms of bullying. Our counselors offer counseling options for anyone connected with incidents of bullying, whether it is a person being bullied, the perpetrator or bystanders.
We have reporting systems in place that include both anonymous and personal reporting options. Every year we re-evaluate the needs of our campus and prepare a plan that includes awareness education, development of clear and consistent consequences, and protocols for investigating complaints in a timely manner. Please feel free to contact our counseling department at any time for questions or concerns dealing with bullying.
Students and Parents MUST discuss any bullying concerns they have with school personnel. We all share a common goal of ensuring all children feel safe (socially, emotionally, and physically safe) at school. The students' and parents' voice is critical to resolving concerns of bullying.
