• ATTN:  ALL 7th grade Parents and Students:

The Vision and Hearing Screening Program Chapter 36 of the Texas Health and Safety Code, requires all 7th grade children enrolled in public school must be screened or have a professional examination for possible hearing and vision problems.  These screenings typically occur during the first couple of months after school starts (usually September or October).  A formal informational letter will go out to parents 1-2 weeks prior to the screening date.  If a problem is found, you and your student will be notified by mail that a more in depth exam is recommended by a physician.

ATTN:  ALL 8th grade Parents and Students:

As part of the Texas state-required Spinal Screening Program, ALL 8th grade students will be screened for scoliosis.  This screening typically occurs in the Spring semester (January, February, or March).  A formal informational letter will go out to parents 2 weeks prior to the screening date.  If a spinal problem is suspected, the student will undergo a second screening.  Parents will be notified of results only if professional follow-up is necessary.
