What is Texas Workforce Commission?
Texas Workforce Commission is tasked with providing workforce development services to employers and job seekers of Texas. By providing workforce deployment TWC strengthens the Texas economy, by focusing on the needs of employers TWC is able to give Texas the drive needed to draw business here. The major functions of TWC included developing the workforce, providing support services including child care for targeted populations participating in workforce training and adult education and literacy services, providing services for people with disabilities to obtain training and employment, and administering the unemployment benefits and tax programs. As you can see Adult Education & Literacy is one but of many of the great services TWC ensure are being provided in Texas.

Funding
How does a state funded program exisist and where does our funding come from? Most of TWC is funded through federal sources. They provide grants through allocation formulas, to workforce development boards (WIOA), TANF choices, SNAP E&T, and other workforce and support services. Based on program performance and student retention we are provided with state funding to better serve you.
