    Hello, families and students! My name is Amanda Qualls and I am your school librarian. This will be my first year acting as librarian at both Gonzalez and Windle campuses. Before becoming a school librarian, I taught Head Start at Windle for five years. Upon receiving my librarian certificate in 2015, I became the librarian at Paloma Creek Elementary.
     
    Since 1994, I have lived, worked, and played in Denton, Texas. I am married to a wonderful man named Billy, and we have two beautiful daughters, Kait and Kaeley, and our son-in-law, Ty. My oldest daughter, Kait is a senior at Texas Woman's University, where she is majoring in business and human resources. She and Ty will celebrate their third wedding anniversary in November. My youngest daughter, Kaeley, is in her second year at North Central Texas College and would love to be an anthropologist one day. We have a Yorkshire terrier mix named King and new yellow lab puppy named Letty. I can guarantee you’ll hear many stories about my family as the year progresses! 
     
    My alma mater is Texas Woman's University, where I received my bachelor’s degree in 2004 and my master’s degree in Teaching in 2009. In 2013, I went back to TWU to become a school librarian and received my Texas certificate in 2015. In May 2018, I finished my second master's degree in Library Science.
     
    I'm excited to be your child's librarian this year! Together, we can develop the early literacy skills your child needs for future success and at the same time help create a lifelong love of reading.
