Hello!My name is Diane Ricks and I am the Parent-Infant Advisor for children who are hearing impaired. My job requires me to cover 26 school districts over 3 counties. In other words I am a road warrior. I work in conjunction with Ready Start which is the Federal Early Childhood Intervention Program. When children are identified with an auditory impairment, I am called in to assist with services to the family as required by both the family and the agency. I have held this position for the past 15 years and worked this position years ago.I hold a Bachelor's of Science degree from TWU and have 21 hours towards my masters. I also have 10 years experience with DARS (Department of Rehabilitation Services) as a counselor, as an interpreter at the university level for 13 years, as a job placement specialist for the deaf, and in teaching..
