Denton ISD Attendance Boundary Modification

The district is repurposing Paloma Creek Elementary beginning with the 2026-27 school year. Current Paloma Creek Elementary students will be reassigned to nearby, higher-performing campuses. As a result, adjustments to attendance zone boundaries will be made for elementary schools in this area to ensure campuses remain balanced, well-supported, and positioned to continue delivering strong academic outcomes.

The impacted campuses are: Bell Elementary, Martinez Elementary, Paloma Creek Elementary (reassigned campus), Sandbrock Ranch Elementary, Savannah Elementary, Union Park Elementary

These proposed boundary zone changes would take effect at the start of the 2026-27 school year. The proposed boundary maps are located on this webpage and include the following changes:

  • Students from Paloma Creek Elementary will be redistributed to Bell, Union Park, Sandbrock Ranch, and Savannah
  • Portions of Martinez will attend Bell, Sandbrock Ranch, and Savannah
  • Portions of Sandbrock Ranch will attend Savannah

Request to Remain

Families who could be affected have received an email providing information about the proposed changes, as well as an invitation to attend community meetings. Feedback shared will be presented to our Board of Trustees, with final attendance boundaries expected to be determined at the March 24 meeting.

All students at affected campuses who are subject to rezoning can complete a Attendance Boundary Request to Remain Form to continue attending the campus they currently attend. Please note that this option is not available for Paloma Creek Elementary students, as the campus will no longer serve students beginning in the 2026-27 school year. Paloma Creek students will be assigned to a campus based on the approved attendance boundaries.

All students may also complete a transfer request during the designated window if they wish to attend a school outside their attendance boundary.

If your student(s) are being reassigned to another school for the 2026-27 school year, but you wish for your student(s) to remain at their current school, please fill out the Request to Remain form at the link below:

26-27 Attendance Boundary Request to Remain Form

This link will be active beginning on Friday, February 27, and closes on Friday, May 8.

District guidelines for transfers will be in effect for families requesting to stay at their current campus. In subsequent years, if younger siblings wish to remain within the zone, a transfer application may be completed. Transfers will be approved and are subject to Denton ISD's transfer guidelines.
