Newton Rayzor is an International Baccalaureate World School, meaning it operates using a highly rigorous curriculum that encourages and influences students to approach education through a global perspective, and follows the IB structure indicated through the Early Years Programme. Students at the school cover the core academic fundamentals found in elementary education, yet also broaden their experiences by learning about various cultures and countries.

The school features various activities that help students become well-rounded learners and take part in numerous experiences, helping spread the school’s mission of “changing the world by learning from each other” every day.
The Board approved the 2019-20 School Calendar as previously presented. Under the district’s designation as a TEA District of Innovation, the calendar reflects changes that are intended to drive more effective learning and the desires of our local community.
Motorcycle enthusiasts and community volunteers are partnering with Denton ISD and other Denton County school districts with the seventh annual Coats for Kids Ride on Sunday, Nov. 25. This year the ride will include a drive through Texas Motor Speedway.
At the November 13 school board meeting, plans for the new Denton High School were presented. Construction will begin in June 2019 on the new Denton High School. The campus will serve 2,400 students and is anticipated to open its doors in the Fall of 2022.
