District Transfer Appeals

Elementary and Inter-District transfer requests are NOT eligible for appeal.

Program and Pre-Kinder placements are not considered transfers. These student placements do not determine a student's home campus.

Transfer Appeal Process

  • If you are denied an intra-district transfer at the secondary level, you may file an appeal.
  • The Transfer Appeal Application must be completed, and any supporting documentation must be submitted to DentonISDStudentTransfers@dentonisd.org.
  • All appeals submitted within the designated timeline will be reviewed by the School Leadership and Academic Programs Division. Additional information may be requested during the review process.
  • If you do not submit an appeal within the required timeline, your student will be expected to attend their school of residence. Staff at the school of residence will assist you with registration and enrollment.
  • If your appeal is granted, you will receive notification via email from the School Leadership and Academic Programs Division. If your appeal is denied, that decision represents the district’s final action on the request.
  • Inter-district transfers are not eligible for the appeal process.
  • Elementary transfers are not eligible for the appeal process.
