District-provided Instructional Plans

Denton ISD provides families with instructional plans in the form of a storyboard or course overview for each course. These documents give families a clear overview of what students will be learning in the course. You can find this information for your child’s classes on the links on this page, organized by grade level and course.

Teacher-provided Instructional Plans

At the beginning of each semester, your child’s teacher will share an instructional plan or course syllabus that outlines what students will be learning. If you would like a printed copy, you may request one at any time.

Elementary: At the start of the year, teachers will send home a “Welcome Back & Instructional Plan” letter that includes links to Family Letters for each unit, found in our district curriculum. This letter is updated for the second semester or may be kept available all year for easy access.

Secondary: At the start of the year, teachers provide parents with an instructional plan or syllabus that includes the course name and description, links to the year-long course overview and TEKS, information about instructional resources, and a general overview of the course assessment plan. This information may be updated for the second semester or may be kept available all year for easy access.
