Lone Star TIA
Technology Integration Academy, July 24, 25, 26
hosted by Denton ISD - Denton, Texas
Denton ISD is pleased to announce our annual event has become regional and includes our neighboring states: Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, and Louisiana and has been re-named to Lone Star TIA.
The first two days of Lone Star TIA are designed for everyone – teachers, support staff, and administrators. July 26, is exclusively for administrators (superintendents, principals, assistant principals, directors, coordinators, managers, etc.)
Mark your calendar and make plans to attend. You'll experience a large conference feel without the high cost - your pocketbook will thank you! Enjoy compelling keynote speakers, innovative hands-on workshops and sessions, visit with national vendors, see new technologies, learn best practices for your campus or classroom, enjoy plenty of free parking, free Wi-Fi and great door prize giveaways all while networking with top professionals throughout the region. Be sure to BYOT (Bring Your Own Technology - a variety of devices such as laptop, tablet, smart phone, etc.) to get the full conference experience.
Enjoy a lite breakfast, snacks and lunch daily - all compliments of TIA. Participants may choose from a variety of boxed lunches on July 24 and 25 and Administrators will feast on a Texas-style Bar-B-Q lunch July 26.
Online registration is only $35 for teachers and support personnel for the first two days of TIA. Administrator online registration for all three days is $50. Group rates are available for four or more attendees on a single transaction.
After July 1st, onsite registration is available at $50 for teacher/support staff and $100 for administrators.
If you are a retired educator or university student, please attend as our guest. University students should bring their university ID.
TIA offers the following session types. Please note that all session and workshop seating availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis and do not require additional registration.
1) Tabletop Displays - "Come and Go" at your leisure
- Visit our Tabletop Displays and learn about a successful technology project or lesson exhibit style (much like a Science Fair)
2) Presentation Sessions (one hour each)
- Learn about a skill, program or classroom integration in a presentation style
3) Hands-on Workshops (two and one-half hours each)
- Presented in an interactive, hands-on format in a PC computer lab or in a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) atmosphere
Please use this opportunity to share YOUR expertise, techniques, tech tips, technology use, research, and best practices in curriculum/technology integration with others. As one of our VIP’s (Very Important Presenters), on any of these days, you will receive VIP treatment including a bag of goodies and complimentary admission to Lone Star TIA.
Proposals throughout Texas and surrounding states will be accepted until session space is filled. All proposals must be received online. Please limit your description to 50 words. If your session is geared toward a specific audience (grade level, subject, population, skill, etc.) be sure to mention that in your description. Proposed sessions will be selected based on the information you provide. If you presented last year, feel free to submit the same proposal again. Please have your contact information and Co-presenter’s contact information handy before you begin the online application.
Check our website often! Session titles and descriptions will be posted as they become available. Our final program will be available mid-July.
We hope to see YOU at Lone Star TIA!
