Elementary schools seeking reading volunteers for Dr. Seuss Day on March 2

Elementary schools are seeking reading volunteers to celebrate Dr. Seuss Day on Wednesday, March 2, as part of a collaboration between Denton ISD and the United Way of Denton County.

Volunteers will read classic Dr. Seuss stories to children at one of nine Denton ISD elementary schools – Blanton, Evers Park, Lee, McNair, Nelson, Paloma Creek, Rivera, Ryan or Stephens. A limited amount of spots are available at each campus, though reading times at all campuses will be offered between 9:30 to 11 a.m.

To register, potential volunteers can click here and select the desired school they would like to read at.

Dr. Seuss Day, also known as National Read Across America Day, takes place annually on the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known by his pen name of “Dr. Seuss.” Thousands of schools take part in the annual event, which is designed to encourage reading.
