Coats for Kids Ride delivers more than 1,700 winter coats for students

Motorcycle enthusiasts and community volunteers partnered with Denton ISD and other Denton County school districts for the sixth annual Coats for Kids Ride last month.

Participants brought new coats for students between the ages of 5 and 15 years old and took part in a ride from Cycle Center of Denton, located at 521 Acme Street, to American Eagle Harley-Davidson in Corinth. At the completion of the ride more than 1,700 coats and gloves were collected for students in Denton ISD and neighboring school districts.
Ride organizers estimate that thousands of families in Denton County cannot afford to send their student to school wearing a coat this winter, making this event beneficial to those who are most in need. In its six years of existence the Coats for Kids ride has collected almost 10,000 coats for Denton ISD and Denton County students.
