Veterans Day observed by students on Nov. 10

On Veterans Day, observed by our students on Friday, Nov. 10, students across the district will honor service men and women at various events. The following is a list of public events that will be hosted/attended by students from our four comprehensive high schools.


Braswell High 

Students will commemorate Veterans Day at 8:15 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10 with a ceremony in the Auditorium Hall. All veterans from our staff and the community with be honored.

Cadets from the Braswell High AFJROTC will present the colors at 1:45 p.m. at Providence Elementary School.


Denton High

On Friday, Nov. 10, the Denton High AFJROTC will have a Flag Ceremony at 8:15 a.m. in front of the school. Immediately following, the Student Council will host breakfast for our veterans and guests between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m.


Guyer High

The Guyer High AFJROTC is honoring area veterans with a ceremony beginning at 8:30 a.m. surrounding the campus’ flag on Friday, Nov. 10.  Prior to the ceremony, breakfast will be served beginning at 7:40 a.m. At the end of the event, we ask all veterans to line up and allow the students of Guyer to thank you for your service. 


Ryan High

The Ryan High AFJROTC is doing a Veterans Day “Pass in Review” Cadet Parade and Ceremony beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10 at the Ryan Football Field. Local veterans and family are invited to attend.

The Ryan High Color Guard is presenting the colors at the opening of the NCTC Veteran Center at 11 a.m.

At 2 p.m. the Color Guard will also participate in a ceremony at the Denton Heart Hospital.
