Artists' work on display at the State Capitol

Two Denton Independent School District students, one from Ginnings and Stephens Elementary Schools each have the opportunity to have their artwork displayed  in Austin as part of the Texas Art Education Association’s Youth Art Month Capitol Celebration.


The awards ceremony is hosted by the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum on Sunday, March 11, 2018. The artwork will be on display in the Bob Bullock from February 25- March 11, 2018, and in the Lower Rotunda of the State Capitol from March 18-28, 2018.


Of the district's four submissions, these two were chosen as part of the top 100 and will have their artwork displayed at at the State Capitol and Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum for Youth Art Month.

Ginnings Elementary: Ryan Stafford, Kindergarten; Train 486

        Ginnings Art Teacher is Kay Adamson.

Stephens Elementary: Makenzie Neill, 4th Grade; Texas Bluebell

       Stephens Art Teacher is Megan Trammell.


The TAEA consistently provides avenues for children across the state to showcase their work and promotes the importance of promoting art education and students’ artwork within their communities.
