Background: 9th Grade Counselor, 2018-Present
6th-8th Grade Teacher, 2015-2018
9th-12th Grade Teen Leadership/Student Council Teacher, 2014-2015
I am very excited to join the Braswell Counseling team, I absolutely love working with teen and adolescent students regarding education, college/career readiness, social/emotional needs, and building leadership skills. I have taught students in grades 6-12 during my time as a classroom teacher, and have taught History, English Language Arts, Math, AVID, and Teen Leadership. Even though my first degree was not related to education, it did not take me long to realize where I needed to be, and that was working with students in one capacity or another. As a Professional School Counselor, my role allows me to combine everything I love about working with students: advocating for my students' needs, planning for their futures, and working through life's social and emotional struggles.
