UPDATE: New 2018-19 Traffic Pattern for Guyer High
Dear Guyer High Families –
We have been notified by the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) and the City of Denton that some of the changes in place to help with the flow of traffic entering and exiting Guyer High School will not be in place this week due to construction and weather delays. In an effort to keep traffic operating as smooth and safe as possible, the three of us have worked together to put these temporary changes in place:
All parent pick-up and drop off will need to occur at Cedar Creek Lane, the north entrance of campus, until crews finish installing a working traffic signal. A Denton PD officer will be on hand to direct traffic (near the entrance to the soccer fields) until the traffic signal is in place. Students with parking permits in the B, C, and H lots will need to use this entrance and exit as well.
Busing will still be provided to students in neighborhoods affected by the loss of sidewalks and walkways south of Ryan Road past Guyer High on Teasley Lane. If you have been affected by this construction, you should have received communication from the district’s Transportation Department outlining the locations and times for pick up in your neighborhoods. Buses will enter and exit campus through the central entrance located just north of Lot F.
Students and staff with parking permits in the D, E, F and G lots will need to enter and exit through the same entrance as school buses as the Old Alton Road entrance/exit is currently closed. Once the barricades are removed, we will let you know if/when the traffic pattern changes.
Again, we appreciate your patience as we work through these inconveniences and will keep you up to speed with any updates as soon as we are aware. Please click here for a video highlighting our traffic flow changes or check it out on our homepage, under Denton ISD TV at www.dentonisd.org/guyerhs
