Chivonne Kiser Named Assistant Athletic Director

Chivonne Kiser, photo by Matthew White Chivonne Kiser, head volleyball coach and assistant campus athletic coordinator at Morton Ranch High School in the Katy ISD, has been named Assistant Athletics Director for Denton ISD.


Ms. Kiser enjoyed a storied playing career in college as she was a four-year letter winner and team captain for the women’s volleyball team at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. 


She began her career in education in 2001 and served 12 years as head volleyball coach and head girl’s track and field coach for her alma mater, Kempner High School in Sugar Land, Texas. 


Ms. Kiser has spent the past six years as head volleyball coach, assistant campus athletic coordinator and ELA, Photojournalism and Broadcast Journalism teacher at Morton Ranch High School in Katy.


“Chivonne comes from one of the finest districts in the state,” said Joey Florence, athletic director.  “She brings with her a wealth of experience, not just with her playing career at the collegiate level but in her coaching career, her teaching career and in athletic administration.  We’re excited to bring her on board and cannot wait for her to get started.” 


Ms. Kiser holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from Southern University and a Master of Science degree in Sport Management from the University of Florida. She is the mother of three children: Austin, Tyler and Brooklyn.  Her husband, Dr. Charles Kiser, is also an educator.
