Celebrate Grandparents Day with Your Student

Denton ISD’s elementary schools are opening their doors to serve grandparents a special breakfast or lunch in honor of National Grandparents Day. Students across the district will be participating in Grandparents Day celebrations during the month of September.

Grandparents are invited to share a meal together, read aloud to the class, participate in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activities or simply talk about the school day with their grandchild. In addition, many campuses are hosting a book fair in their library to foster a love of reading and help grandparents pass down their knowledge and literacy.

To our revered grandparents, surrogate grandparents and members of our Grandparents in Public Schools mentoring program, we look forward to celebrating National Grandparents Day with you.
