Free Summer Meals Program begins June 1

Beginning Tuesday, June 1, students under the age of 18 can participate in the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Summer Meals Program. All meals will be served in a grab and go format in which students will pick up breakfast and lunch bundled together.

Meals can be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., until all meals are gone. The TDA Summer Meals sites are operated by the S. Tracy Howard Project and the program will run each weekday Monday, June 1 through Friday, Aug. 6.

For the 2021-2022 school year, the Department of Agriculture has also announced it is extending the universal free lunch program. All students, regardless of qualifications for free/reduced lunch status, will qualify for free lunches next academic year.
