Landon Turrubiarte Named Principal of Stephens Elementary
Denton ISD has selected Dr. Landon Turrubiarte as the next principal of Stephens Elementary. Dr. Turrubiarte replaces Emily Manning, who is pursuing another opportunity within Denton ISD.
Dr. Turrubiarte will assume his role as principal of Stephens Elementary beginning July 1. He has most recently served as the principal of Blanton Elementary since 2022 and has nearly a decade of experience in educational administration.
“Dr. Turrubiarte is highly skilled and exceptionally talented with multiple years of administrative experience,” said Luci Schulz, Area Superintendent. “He has previously served students in the Ryan High School Zone – and his familiarity with our community makes him the optimal candidate to lead Stephens Elementary into a new era of success and growth.”
Dr. Turrubiarte has spent the entirety of his career in public education in Denton ISD. He joined the district in 2009, serving as a seventh-grade math teacher at Navo Middle School. In 2011, he moved to Strickland Middle School where he taught math at all grade levels.
In 2014, he became an administrative intern at Strickland, and one year later in 2015, joined the Blanton Elementary staff as an assistant principal – a role he held until assuming the role of principal in 2022.
Dr. Turrubiarte earned his bachelor’s degree from Dallas Baptist University and his master’s degree in educational leadership from Texas Woman’s University (TWU). He earned his doctorate from TWU in educational leadership in 2024.
