Wingard’s performance caps a dominant high-school career defined by discipline, consistency, and a relentless commitment to excellence. Her latest victory further solidifies her standing as one of the most accomplished distance runners in state history, and a proud representative of Denton ISD athletics.

“This moment is the result of years of dedication,” said Head Coach Gary Brown. “To win one state championship is incredible. To win three in a row in the state’s highest classification is historic. Macy is the fiercest competitor I have ever coached; we are incredibly proud of her commitment and dedication to her goals and our program.”

Wingard’s success reflects the strength and support within Braswell High School’s cross country program. From early-morning training sessions to major statewide meets, she has continually pushed herself and those around her to perform at the highest level.

The celebration of Wingard’s third title also resonates deeply across the Braswell campus, where she is known for her humility, leadership, and commitment to excellence both on and off the course.

“Macy represents the very best of Braswell High School, as a student, as an athlete, and as a leader,” shared Principal DeCorian Hailey. “Her discipline and determination inspire her classmates and our entire campus community. We are incredibly proud of her and her accomplishment brings so much excitement to our campus.”
