The varsity Ryan Raiders tennis team made history last night by clinching a bi-district playoff birth for the first time in school history by beating the Northwest High School Texans 14-5.
The Raiders finished the doubles matches with a 5-2 lead, despite a tough loss at first-line boys doubles during a super tiebreaker. Freshman Allison Leath dominated in straight sets at the first-line position for her 6th victory of the season. Junior Shepard Fosdyke-Jackson continued the winning at second-line boys with senior Ashton Harder following suit at his fourth-line spot. Junior Treasure Collins clinched the match via the Raiders 10th win at fourth-line girls.
The Raiders will face the district 5-5A champion, Wichita Falls High School, on Tuesday, Oct. 12 @ 10am at Bowie High School.
