Learn More About School Supplies

True to their support of local public schools, several community organizations and businesses have rallied to ensure students have the necessary supplies to begin school in-person on Thursday, Aug. 12.

“As we were preparing for the upcoming school year, our Adopt-A-School District Partners came together to raise more than $35,000 to purchase school supply packs for students in need,” said Courtney Martin, Denton ISD Community Engagement Specialist. “In lieu of the Denton Back to School Fair this year (which was canceled), our business community has stepped up to make sure our students start their first day of school off on the right foot with necessary supplies.”

District Adopt-A-School partners rallied together, providing school supplies for students in kindergarten through the twelfth grade. Supply packs have been purchased and dropped off at campuses across the district.

Denton Main Street Association members also have organized a backpack drive to collect backpacks for students in need. Their goal was to provide 1,000 backpacks to the students of the district.

Greater Denton/Wise County Association of Realtors organized an area-wide “stuff the bus” school supply drive. Other churches, non-profit organizations and businesses have also organized local supply drives.

If you wish to contribute to the school supply drive, contact Courtney Martin at cmartin@dentonisd.org. If you are looking for school supply assistance for your child, please reach out to the counselor at their school for more information.
