COVID-19 Update: Denton ISD To Be Closed March 16 - 22, 2020

Although there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Denton County, in an abundance of caution, Denton ISD, along with most neighboring school districts, will close all schools and facilities next week. Beginning Monday, March 16 until Sunday, March 22, all Denton ISD schools and facilities (including all athletic facilities) will be closed.

Denton ISD will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation prior to reopening school on Monday, March 23 and will communicate across all platforms as updates become available.

All competitions, including school related and community based, that have been scheduled within the district during this timeframe are postponed.

All buildings are closed to outside rentals during this time as well.

District staff should remain in communication with their supervisor and/or principal regarding their individual needs and workflow.

Denton ISD is actively working to provide information and opportunities for teachers and students to stay safely connected through distance learning and online resources.

Please know that we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and participate in daily calls with local, state and federal officials. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

“These interventions help the community minimize the speed and scale of COVID - 19 outbreak at the local level in Denton County,” said Andy Eads, Denton County Judge.

In the meantime, please remain ever vigilant regarding your health and the safety and health of your family. Know that we will continue to support one another during this challenging time for our community and will provide regular updates as more information becomes available.
