Credit Recovery Sessions Scheduled

IF your student lost required high school credit in 1 or more courses from school year 2023 through 2025 (current) due to excessive absences, and received a passing grade for the course, they may be eligible to recover the credit by serving “seat time” on a scheduled ½ day Friday or Saturday Credit Recovery class.  Students will work on current class assignments during recovery class.  All recovery should take place before the end of the spring semester for any credit loss from last semester or before.  Parents will be emailed when students lose credit.

Students may not graduate until seat time is completed.  Please call 940-369-4002 if you need additional information. 

Upcoming Credit Recovery Sessions at FMHS:

Friday, March 7^th - 12:30 – 4:00pm (Early Release Day – no DISD transportation provided after session).

Saturdays – TBD

Credit Recovery/Seat Time Fees (fee does not need to be paid before attending session)

Student owes 1 – 4 hours' seat time  - $25* - cash or check only

Student owes 4+ hours seat time - $50* per semester - cash or check only

*Options in lieu of payment include community service hours.

As a reminder, you and your student were given the following information when accepted to Fred Moore High School:

• Attendance – Classes begin at 8:30am and school dismissal is 3:55pm.  Students with excessive absences and tardies risk losing high school credit required to graduate. See DISD website for “Attendance Matters”. Attendance 90% Rule - Credit Recovery/Seat Time will only be offered outside of regular school hours and for a fee of up to $50 per semester. Students on an accelerated path (FMHS) will need to be especially attentive if absent.
• Academic Expectations - Students should complete assigned courses within 45 days or risk being placed on academic probation.  If adequate progress is not made, a student may be asked to return to their home/zoned campus.

Credit Recovery (seat time and fee up to $50) for loss of credit due to absences from a previous campus must be completed at Fred Moore High School within the first 3 months of enrollment & outside of regular school hours.  Seat time includes Saturday class, and/or opportunities outside of regular school hours.
