Robin Brownell Named Area Superintendent of Denton High Zone
Robin Brownell has been selected as the new Area Superintendent of the Denton High School Zone, effective July 1. Ms. Brownell replaces Dr. Lacey Rainey, who will become the new Assistant Superintendent of Academic Programs.
Most recently the principal at Hawk Elementary School, Ms. Brownell has been in her role at Hawk since 2015. Ms. Brownell has been with Denton ISD for the past 22 years.
“As the daughter of a long-time educator in the district, Ms. Brownell brings an enthusiasm and deep understanding of our community,” said Dr. Susannah O’Bara, deputy superintendent. “She has a reputation for building strong instructional systems and a climate of excellence everywhere she serves.”
A graduate of Denton High School, Ms. Brownell received her bachelor’s in elementary education from the University of North Texas. She later received her master’s in educational leadership from UNT, as well.
Prior to her role as the principal of Hawk. Ms. Brownell was the assistant principal of Pecan Creek Elementary from 2012-2015. She was a teacher at Pecan Creek from 2009-2012, and from 2001-2009, was an instructional specialist at Alexander Elementary.
