Andrea Hare Named Principal of Hodge Elementary

Andrea Hare Andrea Hare, assistant principal of Hodge Elementary, has been elevated to principal at the campus at which she currently serves. She replaces the campus’ current leader, Dr. Patty Jensen, who has accepted a similar position out of state and will be moving with her family during the summer. Ms. Hare will begin her new duties in July.


“Having served as an instructional leader and assistant principal for the past several years, Andrea Hare will provide a sense of stability and focus for the students, staff, and community,” said Dr. Gwen Perkins, area superintendent of academic programs. “Her strong desire to support and grow not only herself, but every member of the team, will ensure our students experience the best opportunities for success.”


Ms. Hare began her teaching career in 2001 as a fourth-grade teacher at Malvern Elementary School in McKinney ISD. After a four-year stint in Little Elm ISD, Ms. Hare joined Denton ISD in 2009 as a teacher at Hodge Elementary. 


She has spent the last ten years on campus serving students and teachers as a reading recovery teacher, interventionist, instructional coach, guidance counselor and assistant principal.


“I am honored and humbled to serve the Hodge students in this capacity,” said Ms. Hare. “I’m excited to continue leading and supporting the great work that is being done at Hodge by the students and teachers each day.” 


Ms. Hare earned her bachelor’s degree in Applied Learning and Development from the University of Texas at Austin and her master’s degree in Education in School Counseling from Dallas Baptist University.
