District to Dedicate Union Park Elementary on Oct. 15

The Denton Independent School District Board of Trustees will host a formal dedication of Union Park Elementary School beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Union Park Elementary is located at 7301 Fieldwood Way, Aubrey. Student led tours of the facility will precede the ceremony at 6:30 p.m.

Union Park Elementary, the district’s 24th elementary school, is located in the Town of Aubrey in the fastest growing area of Denton County. The 88,674 sq. foot facility stands on 15 acres in the far eastern portion of the district within the Union Park subdivision. The school was built to relieve overcrowding at Bell and Paloma Creek Elementary schools.

The new home of the Union Park Pioneers is the first campus in the district to utilize solar energy as a cost savings, in additional to geothermal wells and a water cistern. The campus is the first in the district to unveil the all-weather storm shelter gymnasium.

Stantec served as the architect, and Balfour-Beatty was the contractor.
