Braswell Theatre Presents: The Wizard of Oz Musical Production

There's no place like home at Braswell High School during their 2019-2020 musical production of The Wizard of Oz!


Performances run January 23, 24, 25, and 27 with at 7 p.m. each night. All performances will be held in the Braswell High School Auditorium at 26750 E University Dr, Aubrey, TX 76227.


Among the large cast of 64 actors, high school senior Sarah Butts will play Dorothy Gale. Fellow seniors Giuliano Simmer, Travail Allen, and junior Genevieve Youngs will play the Cowardly Lion, Tinman, and Scarecrow, respectively.


A variety of special events are planned around the shows; on January 23, a "Find Your Toto" adoption event will take place before and after the show and during intermission.


During these times you will be able to meet with local animal rescues and find your very own special furry friend! At the Saturday performance, the Fine Arts department will recognize and celebrate the seniors in the production with a special pre-show ceremony.


This production of Wizard of Oz is based on the 1987 version by John Kane, who adapted the film's screenplay for the Royal Shakespeare Company by L. Frank Baum, with music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg, background music by Herbert Stothart, Dance and voice arrangements by Peter Howard, orchestration by Larry Wilcox.
