Parents,
It is my understanding that some of you were given inaccurate information regarding the immunization needs for your student. I would like to offer my sincere apology for the inconvenience, frustration and hardship you may have experienced. I am providing a brief explanation of the immunization needs, as well as providing a link that goes into more detail. No student will be turned away from receiving his/her schedule if there is any question regarding immunization. However, when our school nurse, Jennifer Johnston reviews the records of your child, please note you must provide documentation of current immunizations if she finds that your child is not current.
Parents of 7th graders: As we are reviewing the immunization records, a significant number of 7th grade students are NOT current as of August 11, 2016. This is due to the recent changes made in state requirements. Please be prepared to update your child’s immunizations.
Vaccination Requirements
6th Grade: There are no new vaccine requirements for students entering 6th grade as long as the student's vaccines are update to date.
7th Grade: Students entering 7th grade are required to have the following additional vaccines.
DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis) if at least five years have passed since the last dose.
MCV4 (Meningococcal) - One dose on or after the student's 11th birthday.
8th Grade: There are no new vaccine requirements for students entering 8th grade as long as the student's vaccines are update to date.
