Guyer High School Announces Four High School All-American Student-Athletes

During an unprecedented pep rally ceremony, Guyer High School announced that four Wildcat varsity student-athletes, football players Ryan Yates, Jackson Arnold, Peyton Bowen, and volleyball player Kyndal Stowers were all named to the Under Armour High School All-American Team in their respective sport. During the pep rally they received the jersey they will wear while playing in the nationally televised games.

Those four players were not the only distinguished honorees from Guyer High to be recognized at the ceremony. Head football coach, Reed Heim, was also selected as a coach for the Under Armour All-America game.

Selected by ESPN, only 100 of the nation's premier high school football players are to participate in the 2023 Under Armour next All-America game. Over its 14-year history, the Under Armour All-America game has produced many of football's best collegiate and professional players.

In addition to the Guyer Football All-America selections, senior volleyball player Kyndal Stowers was selected as an Under Armour All-America in volleyball. She is one of only 24 players in her sport in the entire country selected for this prestigious honor.

“It is an honor to be selected to be a part of this event, but even more important, I am lucky enough to get to coach these three young men awarded All-America jerseys today and throughout their high school careers. For as good of athletes as they are on the football field, they are better young men and stellar student-athletes off the field. All four of these Wildcats standing in front of you today are all so deserving of this honor,” said Coach Heim, head coach and campus athletic director.

Since the inaugural football game in 2008, when perennial pro bowlers Julio Jones and AJ Green competed, the game has served as a proving ground for the NFL stars of tomorrow. The league's most recognizable players, including Kyler Murray, Kyle Pitts, Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Fields, Nick and Joey Bosa and Myles Garrett have all starred in high school football’s premier all-star showcase event. Nearly 300 alumni have been selected in the NFL Draft, including four overall No.1 picks and 79 first-round selections.

The Under Armour All-America volleyball match will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 30 in Orlando, Fl., and it will be televised on ESPNU. The Under Armour All-America football game will be played on Tuesday, Jan. 3 and will air live on ESPN.
