Denton ISD High School Band, Choir, and Orchestra students who qualified to perform in the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest earned a total of 65 medals for their outstanding performances. To qualify for State, students had to earn a 1st Division rating at the UIL Region 2 Contest on a memorized Class 1 solo or a Class 1 ensemble. Class 1 literature is the most challenging level on the UIL Prescribed Music List. At State, student performances are judged and awarded a UIL Gold medal for a Superior (Division 1) rating or a UIL Silver medal for an Excellent (Division 2) rating.

Congratulations to these outstanding students for their award-winning performances at the State contest. Many thanks to their awesome directors and private lesson teachers for helping them prepare for this performance.
