At the recent kick-off of the 2022-23 campaign of United Way of Denton County, Denton ISD was honored as a “Pacesetter” for the previous year’s employee giving campaign. Pacesetters set the pace and build momentum for the annual United Way campaign that benefits people in Denton County who are in need. When Pacesetters lead, others will follow

“We value the partnership with the United Way and all that they do to support Denton County, the City of Denton, and of course, what they do the for the staff and students of Denton ISD,” said Dr. Buddy Dunworth, principal of McMath Middle School. “The leadership in Denton ISD truly leads by example.  Our Denton ISD leaders kicked off the Denton ISD 2022 United Way campaign in record fashion, raising over $20,000 in just one day.” 

Meeting the goal of connecting Denton ISD with other leading businesses, building a strong and healthy community through support, and winning this award signifies the commitment of Denton ISD employees to its students and families.

“Pacesetter Campaign Partners lead the way by planning and conducting workplace campaigns to kick off the Annual United Way of Denton County Campaign Season,” said Kristin Jones, director of resource development for United Way of Denton County. “Pacesetters, as their title would suggest, lead by example, utilizing United Way best practices for a successful campaign. Designated as a 2022 Platinum Pacesetter, DISD is honored to help set the pace, and build momentum for other businesses across Denton County to follow.”

Recognized as a Platinum Level Pacesetter for the 2021-2022 school year, Denton ISD is preparing to improve upon those contributions this fall as they kick off the upcoming district-wide campaign in October.
