Denton ISD’s Board of School Trustees approved the 2023-24 school year at their regular meeting in December. The 2023-24 School Year will begin Thursday, Aug. 10, with the district’s annual Freshman First Day (Class of 2027 only) set for the day prior on Wednesday, Aug. 9.

The 2023-24 school year will come to an end Friday, May 24, ensuring that students are out before the Memorial Day weekend. The district’s extended school breaks will include:

• Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 20 – 24
• Winter Break: Dec. 22 – Jan. 4
• Spring Break: March 11 – 15

There are a total of 12 student half days designed for teacher planning and staff preparation. Those PLC days are as follows:

• Friday, Nov. 17
• Wednesday, Dec. 20
• Thursday, Dec. 21
• Friday, Jan. 26
• Friday, Feb. 16
• Friday, March 8
