College and Career Expo to be held Oct. 20

Denton ISD’s Counseling Services Department will be hosting a College and Career Readiness Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, at the LaGrone Advanced Technology Complex, located at 1504 Long Rd. in Denton.


The expo will feature interactive sessions to help families and students prepare for the whole college experience. Topics will vary in scope from financial planning and applying for scholarships to emerging career trends and how to earn college credits in high school. City vehicles will be present for children to explore, individualized FAFSA help will be available for senior students, as well as college/career booths throughout the expo.


Colleges and universities from across the state and region are slated to attend the college fair portion of the event, with school counselors from numerous district campuses also on hand to answer questions and help attendees choose appropriate sessions.


Spanish translation will be available for select sessions and free hot dogs will be available to attendees.
