MISSION AND PURPOSE
The Black Student Union or BSU is the presiding organization representing marginalized students of African descent at Braswell High School. It is our mission to educate, inspire, support and empower our students with a variety of programming, professional and leadership development seminars, workshops, and social justice training. BSU is dedicated to producing an intentional, empowered and engaged community that centers around the intersectional black student experience.
Our strength comes from the work of our students and from the courage, vigor, and sacrifice of those who paved the way for us. We are committed to recognizing the beauty and diversity that is the Black community and culture all while fostering an unwavering pride in our history, our future, and ourselves.
BSU hopes to create and sustain a vast network and platform that not only encourages our community, but also fosters solidarity within and beyond the walls of Braswell High School.
BUSINESS CAUSAL TUESDAY
As a member of this organization, you serve as a representative to the public. Whether you're servicing in the community, sitting in class or speaking with customers at your after school job, your appearance reflects on the organization and your family. Dressing professionally helps you present a positive, professional image of your organization to others. Even if you dress casually or wear a uniform, making sure you look neat and put together can improve the reception you receive. You can do your best work when you feel your best. Dressing professionally can help you feel empowered and confident to take on new challenges, meet new people and progress in your career. You can do your best work when you feel your best. Every Tuesday BSU members will dress in their Business Causal
What is business casual?
Business casual attire is broadly defined as a code of dress that blends traditional business wear with a more relaxed style yet still professional and appropriate enough for an office environment. For example, in a business casual setting, you could wear slacks or khakis and a polo or blouse without a jacket or tie.
