North Texas Adult Education & Literacy

Empowering Lifelong Learners

Welcome to NTAEL!

  • North Texas Adult Education and Literacy (NTAEL), formerly Denton ISD Adult Education & Literacy, is a Texas Workforce Commission funded program that resides as a department of Denton ISD. NTAEL proudly serves the counties of Denton, Erath, Hood, Johnson, and Somervell by providing English as a Second Language (ESL), High School Equivalency (HSE), Career Pathway (CPW) certification classes and Workplace Literacy.

NTAEL is an ongoing program that runs classes all year round with student enrollment every week that offers online and face-to-face classes. We have two main offices that are located in Denton and Cleburne, TX to better serve our counties.

We prepare adults for higher academic instruction or skills training that leads to employment and self-sufficiency. If you are ready to take the leap, register for classes near you today, and "Let’s Move Forward Together!"

Students who require the use of respiratory inhalers or other related medical devices must comply with the rules and regulations outlined in the 2023-2024 Denton ISD Student and Parent Handbook, which requires written authorization from a physician or other licensed healthcare provider, in collaboration with the school nurse.

We appreciate your efforts as we work to keep your child safe while on campus. Schools should be places where a child looks forward to spending their days safely.

The health and wellness of our students has been, and will continue to be, our top priority in Denton ISD. We value the trust you place in us as we work to educate your child.
