Asian Student Union
-
We represent a unified student body, bound together by our shared heritage and a deep appreciation for the diverse cultures and traditions of Asia. Our primary goal is to establish a supportive and inclusive community, not only for our fellow Asian peers but also to foster connections with other cultural groups on campus.
Our organization was established by Anne Huynh, Sean Roque, and Danish Ejaz, driven by their dedication as motivated students at Braswell High School who noticed the absence of representation for individuals like themselves on the campus.
In her junior year, Anne Huynh observed thriving Asian communities in neighboring DISD schools, which ignited her determination to unify a similar community at Braswell. She enlisted the support of her close friend, Sean Roque, who shared her vision for Asian unity on campus. Together, they embarked on the journey to make their dream a reality.
Despite facing resource and time constraints in their attempt to build this organization nearing the end of their junior year, they entered their senior year this fall with a renewed commitment to establish this group. During their efforts, they crossed paths with Danish Ejaz, a new student from Canada with experience in leading a similar organization back home. With a third member, they felt more encouraged than ever to turn their dream into reality. After a few months of hard work, what initially seemed impossible succeeded.
Now that everything has fallen into place, they are eager to introduce the power and richness of Braswell High School's Asian community through enjoyable activities, food, and even thought-provoking discussions.
