Texas Bluebonnet Award
Established in 1979, the Texas Bluebonnet Award is a reading program which encourages students to read many of the new books published each year. With a list of 20 books designated as the master list, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students are encouraged to read as many of the titles as possible. Then, in January of each year, those students who have read a minimum of 5 titles from the list vote for their favorite. The votes are tallied state wide and the title which receives the most number of votes is declared the Texas Bluebonnet Award winner. To view current nominees, click here.Establecido en 1979, el Premio Texas Bluebonnet es un programa de lectura que anima a los estudiantes a leer muchos de los libros nuevos que se publican cada año. Con una lista de 20 libros designados como lista maestra, se anima a los estudiantes de tercer, cuarto, quinto y sexto grado a leer tantos títulos como sea posible. Luego, en enero de cada año, aquellos alumnos que hayan leído un mínimo de 5 títulos de la lista votan por su favorito.
