Borman Elementary is known for its community support and has one of the largest mentoring programs in Texas. The school, built-in 1970 and renovated in 2009, was named after Frank Borman, a NASA astronaut and commander of the Apollo 8 spacecraft. Borman is an International Baccalaureate World School offering the Primary Years Programme, providing students with a strong academic base that focuses on the development of a child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and the world outside. The school also functions as a dual-language campus to produce bilingual and biliterate students.
