Luci Schulz Named Area Superintendent of Ryan High Zone
Luci Schulz has been selected as the new Area Superintendent of the Ryan High School Zone, effective July 1. Ms. Schulz replaces Dr. Gwen Perkins, who will retire at the end of the school year.
Most recently the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education in Humble ISD outside of Houston, Ms. Schulz has served in her current role for the past six years. Prior to Humble ISD, Ms. Schulz was a principal in Splendora, Hillsboro and Sanger ISD. She spent eight years in the classroom as an elementary teacher, getting her start at Chisholm Trail Elementary in Sanger ISD in 2002.
Ms. Schulz brings over two decades of educational experience to her new role overseeing the Ryan High School Zone.
“Ms. Schulz brings a wealth of experience having served in a similar role in a district in South Texas,” said Dr. Susannah O’Bara, deputy superintendent. “Bringing her back to Denton County, her home, is a win-win for us all.”
Ms. Schulz is a native of nearby Sanger and received her bachelor’s degree from TCU. She later received her master’s degree from the University of North Texas.
Ms. Schulz is married to her husband, Marcus, who is an athletic director and head football coach in a nearby school district. They are raising two children.
