All 4 DISD Marching Bands earn UIL 1st Division Ratings

Braswell, Denton, Guyer, and Ryan HS Bands all receive 1st Division ratings at UIL Region 2 Marching Band Contest


On Saturday, October 20, Braswell, Denton, Guyer, and Ryan HS Marching Bands performed in the UIL Region 2 Marching Band Contest at Northwest ISD stadium. The Denton ISD bands performed among bands from all over Region 2 which included other 5A and 6A districts such as Lake Dallas ISD, Lewisville ISD, and Northwest ISD. All four DISD marching bands earned 1st Division "Superior" ratings for their performances. This is UIL's highest rating awarded by the judges according to the UIL rubrics. 


6A bands that are awarded 1st Division ratings this season advance to the UIL Area level contest. Guyer will perform in the 6A Area C UIL Marching Band Contest on October 27 at Mesquite Memorial Stadium. Performance times and other details will be posted here by UIL:
