District High Schools Excel in UIL One Act Play Competition
Three Denton ISD Schools, Ryan HS, Denton HS, and Guyer HS have advanced to Bi-District Competition in UIL One Act Play. The Bi-District event will take place Thursday, March 28 at Timber Creek High School.
In 6A UIL One Act Play Guyer Theatre Advanced to Bi-District with their production of SWEAT, by Lynn Nottage, and they also earned the following awards:
Best Actor: Luke Brodersen for his portrayal of Chris
All Star Cast: Haley Dortch for her portrayal of Cynthia; Will Marshall for his portrayal of StanBest Technical Crew: Grace Duncan, Travis Barton, Seth Birdsong, Caleb Kenneke, Alex Marshall
Individual Tech Award: Travis Barton
In 5A UIL One Act Play Ryan High School Theatre Advanced to Bi-District with their production of “The Crucible” by Arthur Miller.
Best Actress was awarded to Ava Bohnert.
Outstanding Technician was Hannah Bohnhert
Honorable Mention All Star Cast were awarded to Lauren Patton & John Diehl
Lauren Reeves was named to the All-Star Cast
Denton HS advanced to 5A Bi-District competition with their production of “Lend Me a Tenor” by Ken Ludwig.
Best Actor was awarded to Noah Waddell
Outstanding technician was awarded to Angelina Gonzalez
Cyrus Carrillo & Jackie Taylor were both awarded All Star Cast
Braswell High School was named the Alternate to 5A Bi-District with their production of “The Women of Lockerbie” by Deborah Brevoort.
