Guyer Winterguard Takes Bronze at NTCA Championships and Competes at World Championship
This year's Guyer Winterguard show concept hoped to bring joy to anyone that watched. They took a sad song about cliches and made it into a fun loving cliche of clowns. Set to the song "Send in the Clowns", the Guyer Winterguard performers dressed as harlequin clowns, rode on tricycles, performed clown gags, and even included a pie to the face. The beautiful design took audiences on a ride from a somber dance to a fully joyful environment. After only five months, these students consisently rose to the top of competition. They were received in the top 10 at the Austin Regional, placed second in the Dallas Regional, and took home the Bronze medal at the North Texas Colorguard Association Championships. The Guyer Winterguard continues to develop a nationally recognized organization by traveling to WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio.
We would like to congratulate these 12 dedicated members of the GHS Winterguard on an incredible season: Lauren Barrett, Jessica Chambers, Wrena Crooks, Becca Haskins, Tori Nerpel, Hannah McCall, Jordyn McMahan, Gia, Meija, Ryleigh Metting, Ariana Taskakkori, Reagan Weddle, and Abby Worth. Design and Teaching Staff includes: Susan Hanggi, Sarah Ross, Ian Pilley, Kayla Robinson, Sydnie Davidson, Keith Potter, Michael Townsend, and Blake Dutton.
Congratulations, Wildcats!
